Are We Using or Abusing Technology?

How is technology impacting your ministry?

I’m really curious to know what you think… because I firmly believe that there are some significant ways our ministries can be impacted — for the positive — through the appropriate use of technology. We have the potential to:

  • reach more students in non-threatening, or neutral, settings,
  • share important ministry-related information in a context where many of our students spend too much of their time, and
  • follow up with students we haven’t seen in a while

But I also believe there are some profound ways our ministry with college students can be hindered, and even hurt, through the improper use of technology. We have the potential to:

  • replace face-to-face time with screen time… and make the assumption that it’s just as significant,
  • limit our creativity to ONLY the things that can be done through technology, and
  • rely to heavily on technology — and therefore miss some of the ways God is leading us and desiring for us to lead in our ministries

I know these lists are not exhaustive, but they’re a start…

So what does this look like for you?
